30 year Ingersoll resident Tim Lobzun says his top priority is focusing on the proposed landfill.
INGERSOLL- 30 year resident of Ingersoll, Tim Lobzun says the decision to run was a long time coming. "I have a vision of the Town that I've sort of been developing since 1991 when we had the downtown fire and it's a good time for me to throw my hat in the ring again."
The last council term was the fuel that set his decision to run on fire.
"Four years ago I knew we were going to be in a bit of a mess." Lobzun says the past four years have been characterized by a 38 per cent increase in property taxes and nothing to show for it, "we haven't built anything, apart from roads."
Lobzun wants to climb aboard the economic turnaround boat that he says the Town of Ingersoll has 'missed.'
"The Town of Ingersoll has sort of stopped in its tracks...we don't have the growth that Tillsonburg has, we're losing stores..."
Implementing a Finance and Economic Development Committee is one of the ways Lobzun wants to turn things around. By doing so Lobzun hopes to, "gather public input on how to tackle cash flow issues."
Lobzun has 30 years of managerial experience said, 'economice development is one of my hobbies."
An active member of the community Lobzun says his community involvement ranges from having a building in the downtown core to being apart of various Ingersoll committees including the cycling committee.
