The Oxford Lions Club presented two big cheques this morning; one to VON Sakura House and the other to Wellington Animal Hospital.
WOODSTOCK - The Oxford Lion's Club dished out almost $6,000 worth of fundraising dollars to two worthy causes.
VON Sakura House received a cheque for $4,050 this morning.
Fund Development Coordinator Michelle Horwood says that money will go towards the operation costs at the hospice.
"Third party donations and donations in general cover about 40 percent of our budget every year and without them we would not be able to have the house."
The Wellington Animal Hospital also received $1,000 from the Lions Club.
Veterinarian Liz Dennis says that cash will benefit their animal rescue.
"We do everything at cost so this money will get stretched a long way. We've had patients where we have had patients where we have had to send them to dermatologists just to make them adoptable so it's really helpful because sometimes that costs a little bit more when we have to do things outside of our clinic."
Steve Newton, the Chair of Fundraising for the Oxford Lions Club, says they're already starting to make plans for the next Music and Comedy Show.
"We have a show planned for next year; we're kind of finalizing the time. We may shift the time a little bit, it's pretty warm at that time of the year but it's not finalized at this point."

The Wellington Animal Hospital received a cheque for $1,000 from the Oxford Lions Club.
