Ingersoll business owner Gord Lesser seeking a third term on council
Ingersoll business owner Gord Lesser is looking to retain his position on Town council.
Lesser says after serving two terms on council so far, he would like to serve at least one more.
"I've enjoyed the experience. There's still some projects that we are working on that I would like to see carried through, so that is why I would like to stay on council to complete those projects."
He says the business sense he brings along with his community involvement make him a good candidate.
"I hope that I've been able to be open and honest with the people out there. I don't mind talking to them when they have questions and concerns and trying to answer them as openly as we can, to explain what we do on council or why we've made certain decisions."
Lesser says there are four main issues facing Ingersoll this term.
"I know everybody will say the landfill first. We also need to deal with straight land issues, we need to pick up some more industrial land and more residential. Financial, like every other community, it has been a tough go the last couple of years so definitely we'd want to work on those and infrastructure. You know it's not exciting to say that we need to keep after our roads and sewers, that kind of thing, we've been working very hard to upgrade them and update them and like I say, we've still got a ways to go so we just need to keep our eye on it and keep moving ahead."
Lesser is one of four people who have already filed their papers for one of the five available councillor positions.
