After being defeated in the 2010 election, Connie Lauder has filed to run again for City Council
WOODSTOCK - A familiar face is looking to make a return to the Woodstock City council table.
Connie Lauder has filed her papers for City Councillor.
Lauder says she has lots of knowledge to add to the makeup of council for the next four years.
"My motto is, life here, play here, raise my family here and I want to grow old in this wonderful city. I have no hidden agenda and I want to be the voice of the people. I know how important it is to retain the businesses we have along with being on top of looking for growing opportunities for the city."
Lauder says she has been watching council closely over the past four years and is ready to jump back in.
"I belong to a lot of boards and committees now, I've been on a lot of boards and committees so I do have lots of experience. I worked for 30 years for the City, many of those years as a tax collector so I really enjoy working with people and I feel that I have lots to add."
Lauder says the proposed Woodall Farm Community Complex will continue to be a big issue over the next four years.
"I would love to see something happen with the downtown area. I think a lot of people would like something to happen down there and I really think that we always have to work on opportunities for more businesses and industry to come into the city. We always have to be on the outlook for future expansion."
After two terms as a city councillor, Lauder decided to run for the City/County position in 2010 but was defeated by Sandra Talbot and Deb Tait.
