The Ingersoll Rotary Club is hoping to sell the last of their R&R Lottery tickets by Sunday February 21st.
INGERSOLL - The Ingersoll Rotary Club is hoping to sell the remaining tickets for their R&R Lottery by Sunday February 21st. Rotary Club Member Dominic Ricciuto tells Heart FM about the lottery.
"We call it our rest and relaxation lottery. It's our Rotary Clubs biggest fundraiser and it's a trip of the month lottery. For $100 you get a chance to win 1 of 12 luxery trips throughout the year. We do a raffle every month starting at March 1st 2016 through to February 2017 and we also have a second place cash prize and a third place cash prize. So great trips around the world".
So far the club has sold 90% of their tickets. According to Ricciuto, one ticket can give you multiple chances to win.
"The good news about the ticket is there's 12 draws and your name gets re-entered into every draw. So you do have a chance to win more than one trip but we do cap that at 2 trips. But you do have a chance to win every cash prize. Your odds are 1/18 on a $100 ticket".
The value of the trips being given away range from $1,800-$4,500 and include destinations like Italy, Cuba, Portugal, Ireland, Las Vegas and Ontarios own Algonquin Park. The second place grand prize given away each month is $200 while the third place prize is $100.
The Rotary Club uses the funds they raise to support local projects like the annual Easter Egg Hunt and the Vivo Music Program at the Fusion Youth Centre. Ricciuto says the club has made a big commitment to the creation of a new rec center in the city.
"One the biggest commitments we've made has been a $100,000 commitment to the multi-use recreational facility when it gets started in Ingersoll. This is sort of our campaign to help starting to raise funds for when that comes to fruition".
