Gems and Java will takeover the South Gate Centre this Saturday and there are only a handful of tickets left.
WOODSTOCK - The Gems and Java fundraiser for Mothers With A Heart For Ethiopia has changed to a one-day event.
The event is back in person after a two-year virtual run and will still take place at the South Gate Centre, however, it will no longer begin on September 30. The event will instead start Saturday afternoon on October 1, and there are only a handful of tickets left.
Mothers With A Heart For Ethiopia aims to put on a fun event with the Bags and Baubles Boutique, the Ethiopian Marketplace, and the silent auction. All of the money raised will be going to their overseas projects in Ethiopia.
Shelley Green, Founder & Chair of Mothers With A Heart For Ethiopia says it is a great way to support the work that's happening.
"I think that's what makes the event so special. People come out and they have a really great time, but they also leave feeling like their heart has been warmed knowing they've done something good with their time and money and that they are responding to the needs that they've heard about in Ethiopia."
Mothers With A Heart For Ethiopia have been working on a total of seven projects. Examples include continuing to support a shelter for 92 children, they have funded over 500 prolapsed uterus surgeries and they've created a program employing women to create and distribute menstrual products for young girls who would otherwise miss school for a week during their menstrual cycle.
