Could Beachville be a destination for 100 trucks of Toronto trash a day? A proposal is hitting the community today from Niagara-based company "Walker Environmental Group". They're looking to use a mined quarry at the Carmeuse Lime plant. General Manager of Strategic Growth for the company, Joseph Lyng, says the project is only in the beginning stages, and is up to 3-5-years out. "Certainly there's a process involved. It's an environmental assessment, and through that process, it's a planning process, that we'll work with the community to understand their needs and work it into the development of the project." The company will be going door-to-door today in Centreville to let area residents know about the proposal. A public meeting is set for April 4th at the Elm Hurst Inn, and the company has established an office in Ingersoll (160 Carnegie St.), along with a website and toll free number 1-855-392-5537. Keep tuned to Heart FM today for reaction to this developing story.
