Work to rule may be over at elementary schools, however a local deal still needs to be reached
The work to rule campaign at local elementary schools has ended thanks to a tentative deal between the Province and the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario.
Extra Curricular activities resumed at the schools in the Thames Valley District School Board yesterday. Now that a deal has been reached with the Province the next step is to get a centralized deal done with the TVDSB and the ETFO Thames Valley Local. Associate Director with the School Board Jeff Pratt tells Heart FM they are still working on a number of deals.
"At this point in time, local bargaining is continuing for both secondary teachers, elementary teachers and all of CUPE support staff groups and until such a time that we can reach local agreements we won't be able to implement or the central agreements reached will not be implemented."
Pratt says talks are ongoing and they are excited to get back to the bargaining table.
"Those discussions are ongoing, we are waiting for local bargaining to continue and for them to provide some additional dates so we can get back to the table."
