The smell of hot dogs will fill Ingersoll's downtown core today.
INGERSOLL - The Kiwanis Club of Ingersoll will be serving up hot dogs in the downtown core today.
It's their 22nd annual Hot Dog Day.
Club Director John Gee says it will take place at the gazebo from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
"That covers the lunch hour of business people in town or most people who are working with lunch hour. We also get a lot of kids coming in from day camps so it's a busy spot for a couple of hours."
Gee adds it's always a big hit with the local lunch rush.
"We get rid of about 1,000 hot dogs in two hours and we can take in $1,000 to $1,200 which more than covers the cost of our supplies and everything else goes to the kid's nutrition program in the local schools."
The food and drinks are free but donations are accepted.
The Ingersoll Kiwanis Club held their first Hot Dog day back in 1996, in order to celebrate their 75th anniversary.
