Cake Walk will debut at the Ingersoll Theatre of Performing Arts on Friday March 3rd and the final show will take place on Sunday March 12th.
INGERSOLL - After three years of COVID delays, the Ingersoll Theatre of Performing Arts is presenting Cake Walk.
President Jim Konopetski says the show takes place in small-town Ontario in the 1980s, where several quirky characters face off in a cake-baking competition.
"I think people will really enjoy this play, it's fun, there's some poignant moments in it, and a lot of laughs"
Konopetski says the show was originally planned for March 2020, but the lockdowns hit before auditions could take place.
"Fortunately the same two people who were co-directing Arpad Andrew Horvath as well as MJ MacDonald, are still co-directing three years later and they got together and they had a new cast in place before Christmas."
The show is starring talent from several areas including Ingersoll, Tillsonburg, and even London. The cast members include Julie Buffet, John Butterworth, Angela Carvalho, Delaney Carvalho, Ally Ferreira, Nicole McTeer, and Lionel Santos.
Opening night is Friday March 3rd at 7:30 p.m. with performances at the same time on March 4th, March 9th, and March 10th. Three matinee shows will also be performed at 2 p.m. on March 5th, March 11th, and March 12th.
Tickets are $26 for adults, $24 for seniors, $22 for students, and $10 for kids under 12. You can purchase them here, or by calling 519-485-3070.
