It has been over 3 months but a settlement has been reached that will see employees return to work as early as this week.
Beachville - It is back to work for employees of Carmeuse Lime & Stone at the Beachville Operation after a strike lasting over 3 months has now come to an end. Vice President for Human Resources for Carmeuse, Kathy Wiley, knew the reasoning behind this problem was the bargaining team simply failed to reach an agreement. "We've been running it pretty close at full capacity the whole time. The workers will be coming back to work on Wednesday, and of course we have training and orientation after the employees being gone this long. Then we will have to work through the logistic with bringing them back into the plant." Getting all committees together has been the struggle to work through this process over the past few months according to Wiley. Carmeuse issued a statement to say they are really happy they have been able to work through this, and are looking forward to the employees getting back to work.
