Native of the town, Anywn Musico stars in "Elf" at the Grand Theatre in London
If watching the movie "Elf" is part of your holiday tradition, you might want to check out Elf, the musical at London's Grand Theatre.
The play opened November 20th and runs through January 4th.
And it has a local connection...
Ingersoll native Anywn Musico stars in the play in the role of "Jovie", Buddy the Elf's love interest.
She tells Heart FM they've shown some previews and the audience has loved it. "We feel really ready and set to open. It's been great, we've had wonderful audiences so far. They seem to be loving it."
Anwyn, who is a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Woodstock has been in productions in Toronto, Halifax and Pittsburgh after graduating from the Musical Theatre program at St. Lawrence College.
She's a big fan of the "Elf" movie with Will Ferrell and says it translates well to a musical. "I knew that it had to have the famous lines and great comedic moments and it does, what is added is a beautiful score of music that's just magical and enchanting."
She says even if you haven't seen the movie, you'll be entertained by the play. "This is just a great way to go an laugh and smile and just have a good time. I've seen it a million times you know, backstage, and I'm still laughing. It's such a precious story."
