Ingersoll will be saving power and money later this summer. The town has agreed on a complete overhaul of their streetlight system, switching over to LED's. Town CAO Darrell Parker says the difference between LED's and the current streetlight bulbs is significant. "The new lights are going to save energy costs to the Town of Ingersoll approximately 56% of what we're using now." That will amount to a cost savings of about $220-thousand a year. The town will use the savings over the next decade to pay down the $2.1-million cost of the program. The order of bulbs should be in later this month, ERTH Corp. says it will take about another month to change all the bulbs.
