Ingersoll is the second Oxford municipality to offer electric charge stations.
Sun Country Highway has partnered with ERTH Corporation to provide an electric vehicle charging station along the 401 corridor.
VP of Sun Country Highway Christopher Misch says anyone with an electric vehicle can start charging at 180 Whiting Street in Ingersoll.
"We have now installed the fastest level 2 charging stations which will fuel up cars in as little as three hours, four hours from empty so the idea here is that we are creating an infrastructure for emission free travel."
Mayor Ted Comiskey says he is thrilled to have such state of the art technology in his town.
"If you have an electric car and need it charged you are going to go to communities that have charging abilities so I think advertising that in itself will bring those people that do have it and that adds to our tourism."
VP and GM of ERTH Corporation Randy Wilcox says they are offering the service free of charge.
"They can pull up anytime. The only thing we are missing right now is there will be a sign that says "Electric Vehicle Charging Parking Only" and it's basically free to the community so anyone who has an electric vehicle can come in and charge their vehicle at any time."
Wilcox says he knows of at least two Ingersoll residents who already have electric vehicles.
ERTH Corporation is planning on opening another station at their Bell Street location in the near future.
Another charge station expected at the Ingersoll Comfort Inn before the end of the month.
