$80,000 in damage done to a Pattulo Avenue business
Employing an alarm company saved a Pattulo Avenue company roughly $2.5 million when a fire broke out after hours.
It happened just after 5:30 Friday evening at Big O when all of the workers had gone home.
Public Information Officer Lisa Woods says the alarm company alerted the fire department quickly and they were able to extinguish the flames in 65 minutes.
Woods says the fire was a result of an electrical failure in power equipment that sparked and ignited nearby plastic products on pallets.
The heat and fire damaged nearby equipment at an estimated cost of $80,000.
No one was injured in the blaze.
