Woodstock Skating Club hosts their 79th annual Ice Show
The Woodstock Skating Club is asking locals to 'Dream a Little Dream'.
That's the theme of their 79th annual skating show.
Office Administrator for the Woodstock Skating Club Marie Bowerman says there will be roughly 100 skaters participating.
"They have put in 20-25 weeks of skating and this gives them the chance to show what they have learned and what they can do. Quite a good number of the senior skaters and intermediate have competed at different competitions this year and have done very well."
"This is our 79th annual ice show. We are the third longest going club in Canada after the Minto Club in Ottawa and the London Skating Club, we are third. Next year is our 80th and we hope to have a big guest skater like we did for our 75th when we had Patrick Chan."
Bowerman says it will be an action packed show.
"We have CanSkate skaters starting about three years old up to about 8 or ten then our intermediate and senior level skaters. We have two adult synchro teams that will be performing, our prenovice dance team, which were competitors at Skate Canada Challenge in Regina this winter."
The hour and a half long show starts at 3pm this afternoon at the Woodstock Community Complex.
Admission to the event is $10 for adults, $5 for students and children under 5 are free.
