Hydro One's President and CEO to present to Woodstock City Council Thursday
Hydro One's President and Chief Executive Officer is making a stop in Woodstock Thursday.
Carmine Marcello is scheduled to make a delegation to City Council at a time when council is considering a sale of Woodstock Hydro to Hydro One.
Mayor Pat Sobeski says he invited Marcello to speak.
"One of the things we stressed right from the beginning was the need for reliability of service and in the last month the Ombudsmen's report has come out talking about a billing issue with Hydro One that certainly has been front and centre in the news and so we indicated to Hydro One that we needed reassurance that they were dealing with the problem."
"It's an opportunity for him to talk about the things that he sees that they have to do as a corporation. That the billing issue is just as important as when the lights go out. So when the lights go out with a hydro company, there is immediate action, well the same sort of customer service has to take place with the billing issue."
"When he is addressing Woodstock council he can't make promises for Woodstock because again, Hydro One services the entire province, so in one way he will be speaking not only to the citizens of Woodstock but he will also be speaking to citizens across the province."
Marcello is scheduled to present first on the agenda Thursday night, followed by approval of the 2014 budget.
Council starts at 7pm in Council Chambers.
We will have full details in the news Friday morning.
