Life has not been the same for a 15 year old from Woodstock after finding out he had a 38 degree curve in his spine.
WOODSTOCK - A 15 year old student at Huron Park Secondary school is hoping surgery will help restore life as he knew it.
Dyson Quan was diagnosed with Scoliosis after doctors found a 38 degree curve in his spine. Once an energetic and skilled athlete, he has now been reduced to playing no sports.
His mother Rachel Oliver tells Heart FM her son struggles with basic functions like walking, sitting and laying down.
"Dyson has difficulty doing everyday normal tasks that we all take for granted, he cannot sit for long periods of time, anything more than 10 or 15 minutes and he is feeling pain and discomfort."
He has elected to go for surgery which carries a number of risks and is potentially life threatening.
A go fund me account has been set up for the family to help purchase any aids Dyson will need for his surgery in December. You can find more information about Dyson and the Go Fund Me page here.
