December 13th is the deadline to donate to the Hunter Weston Memorial Toy Drive.
WOODSTOCK - The annual Hunter Weston Memorial Toy Drive is back.
Hunter passed away back in 2021 after a courageous battle with Neuroblastoma. He was only four-years-old, and his cousin Nolan Petch started the toy drive that December.
Tarnya Petch, Nolan's mother and Hunter's aunt, says it was during the COVID-19 pandemic, so they had traditional drive-by parties.
"He wanted to do that for Hunter. We had to explain to him that we couldn't give these gifts to Hunter, what would you like to do with them? He said let's give them to the kids at the hospital."
Petch on the types of things they are looking for.
"We collect any kind of gift or gift card for children aged newborn to 18."
Petch adds you can donate soothers, blankets, toys, gift cards or money to help with the campaign. She says as of right now, it has been slower this year compared to years past, but there will be a Stuff The Net event at the Woodstock Navy Vets game on December 13th, plus businesses are collecting donations from their employees.
Donations are being accepted until December 13th.
