Over 6,000 pounds of food were collected last night at the Holiday Train in Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - Hundreds of people braved the cold last night to take in the Holiday Christmas Train in Woodstock.
199 Winniett street was packed to watch live performances from Jo Jo Mason and Sam Roberts. Woodstock Mayor Trevor Birtch found his way on the train and Sam Roberts declared him the coolest Mayor east of Alberta.
Not only did the train, provide some great free entertainment, it also provided the Food bank with a huge boost for the holidays.
Major Naomi Dalley with the Salvation Army of Woodstock says they also collected a lot of food last night.
"We collected 6,000 pounds of food last night at the Holiday train and another 3,000 pounds was collected during the parade earlier this month. The community has been tremendously supportive so far this season."
The Holiday Train also made stops in Cambridge, Ayr and London last night.
