Patrons of the libraries in Oxford County can now have access to thousands of temporary digital downloads.
Patrons of the libraries in Oxford County will now have thousands of movies, television shows, music, eBooks, audiobooks and comics at their fingertips.
The library has entered into a partnership with Hoopla Digital. Patrons can download the free app on their Android or IOS device and download the items onto their phones, tablets or e-readers. CEO and Chief Librarian Lisa Miettinen says this is a great option for people looking for digital content.
"First of all you need a library card and a P.I.N. which you get when you get a library card in Oxford County, so there is simultaneous uses so there is no wait times and it is a temporary download so no late fees and it is a great way for people who are looking for content. There is a mix of content, there are new releases and they have an impressive back list of movies, books, comics and music."
Miettinen says some of the titles on Hoopla are not available at the libraries in Oxford and vice versa, so it is great way to add to their collection. Jeff Jankowski, Founder and Owner, Hoopla Digital says “with Hoopla Digital, it is our mission to empower the evolution of public libraries while helping them to meet the needs of the mobile generation. We've worked for years to create a best-in-breed service that is fun, fast and reliable. And we continue to secure content deals to expand our offering of popular and niche movies, TV shows, music, eBooks, audiobooks and comics.”
