The guide can help get you everything you will need to know about what is going on this holiday season
OXFORD COUNTY - The annual Holiday Sharing Guide is out now.
Executive director of the United Way Oxford Kelly Gilson says this document is a wonderful way for people to find out how to access services they need at this time of year. "For an individual that might want to access - it might be a hot meal, it might be to register for a Christmas hamper, it might be something like that - a warm clothing drive. They can find the information for themselves or their families."
Gilson says the guide isn't just for people who need help - it also offers suggestions for people who want to offer a little of their time or money. "There's tips and things to consider. And they also give you idea at the back of the guide so perhaps you want to do a little something at work so they have some suggestions there. It might also be something you want to do in your neighbourhood or with your family. So there's lots of ideas in there that you can work with."
"It allows individuals and organizations all kinds of opportunities to share in the true spirit of the season and to help those that are less fortunate and to really make connections for people who are looking for help," Gilson says. "So it's a wonderful document and it's been around for a number of years but it's enhanced every year."
The guide is put out by InformationOxford.ca and 211. It can be found HERE
