The second Health and Wellness Fair is taking place in Norwich Wednesday.
NORWICH - Residents from across Oxford County are expected to come out for the upcoming Community Health and Wellness Fair in Norwich.
The fair which is in it's second year, is a one day event that will be running from 2 to 8 p.m on October 29th. The Norwich Community Centre will house around 40 exhibitors from various health organizations from across the county.
A.J Wells, Manager of Medical Services for the Township of Norwich said the event is free and open to everyone, "The one thing that we hear a lot is that people think that health and wellness fairs are set up only for seniors. This is definitely not the case, at our event this year we have a number of booths that offer products and seniors that are geared to seniors, but there is something for everyone." Organizations that will be in attendance include: Red Cross, Tillsonburg Retirement Residence, Canadian Blood Services, Big Brothers & Big Sisters and others.
Wells adds that the fair is set up for people to tour different booths, "It's a tradeshow style fair where attendees have the opportunity to walk around the community centre in Norwich and visit a number of different booths and select which ones appeal most to them and speak with representatives at these booths if they wish."
In addition to the exhibits, there will be two one-hour long information sessions. One beginning at 4 p.m will provide information on naturopathic medicine, exploring senior's housing options and preventing falls and use of assistive devices. The 6 p.m session will also include information on senior's housing options, dealing with Alzheimers.
