The beginning of May is now the target to have people living in the Harvey Woods Building in Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - Work on the Harvey Woods building in Woodstock is nearing completion.
The original plan was to have the 54 affordable housing units up and ready to go by October of last year.
Director of Projects and Development at Indwell Graham Cubitt is hopeful the project will be complete within the next four weeks.
"There's still a few details to work out in terms of occupancy but once the architects give the final word and the building department signs off on all of the paper work, we will be ready for occupancy. We are targeting right now the beginning of May."
Cubitt says the demand for affordable housing in Woodstock remains high.
While Cubitt didn't have a firm number, he did say some people have already been confirmed for a spot.
Cubitt says while not everyone will get a spot to live in the building, there will be opportunity to tour the new facility in the near future.
"We are in the planning stages for a tentative grand opening in the beginning of June and that would be an event open to the public to come and see the progress on the project and just celebrate with us the restoration on this important building."
