MPP Ernie Hardeman was encouraging everyone to shop local this Christmas at Queens Park today.
OXFORD COUNTY - The MPP for Oxford County was talking about the importance of shopping local during Question Period at Queens Park today.
Ernie Hardeman encouraged shopping and buying local for the holidays during question period. He spoke about the importance of shopping local and praised Oxford business owners and associations for their work to provide exceptional goods and services close to home and for their dedication to the community.
"While visiting local businesses, it has been great to see the variety of products and services available so close to home and the passion these business owners have for their work and their communities. As people begin their Christmas shopping, I encourage everyone to give their community a gift by shopping local."
Earlier this year Hardeman launched a Shop Local, Buy Local campaign. The goal is to encourage residents to spend their money locally and help stimulate the local economy in response to recent plant closures and layoff announcements.
Hardeman says it is important to shop locally during Christmas.
"With the holiday season approaching, I encourage everyone to look locally for gifts, produce, decorations, or activities. When we support our local economy we are helping to keep businesses and jobs in our communities."
