Ontario's budget has won support from the New Democrats, averting a spring election. N-D-P Leader Andrea Horwath announced today she'll help ensure passage of the minority government's budget. Local MPP Ernie Hardeman says he is disappointed for Ontario families who cannot afford to have the Liberals in power. "I think they really can't afford this type of government to treat the money like it was Monopoly money and just keep printing it and passing it out where ever they have to or where they think they need to to stay in power." "First we see them wasting $600 million on gas plants, now we see them wasting well beyond a billion dollars to stay in power so I guess it really does show the Liberals will do whatever it takes to stay in power and obviously the NDP are willing to sell it." Andrea Horwath says the Liberals addressed a long list of demands in the May 2 budget and agreed to one of the NDP's accountability measures afterwards.
