The Better Business Bureau serving Western Ontario is reminding people to be extra cautious this time of year.
Halloween is right around the corner and right after Christmas; it is one of the biggest spending seasons of the year.
The Better Business Bureau serving Western Ontario is reminding consumers to be cautious this time of year especially when shopping online or at pop up stores. President Deborah Brady tells Heart FM why you should be cautious.
"The idea of the store is that it is a temporary store, so it is just seasonal and most likely the sales are final, so before you purchase make sure you inquire about the return policy."
Brady says when shopping online use credit cards, don't wire money and only use reputable web sites. The Bureau is also reminding parents to make sure your kids aren't wearing dark clothing and to stay in your own neighbourhood. Brady says they even have a few safety tips for pet owners.
"Some pets are frightened by the costumes and the noises and some people may even set off fireworks, which is always stressful
She adds keep your outdoor cats inside for a few days as a precaution.
