Gilvesy Secures Mayor's Seat in Tillsonburg

Deb Gilvesy will be sworn in as the next Mayor of Tillsonburg on November 15th.

TILLSONBURG - The Town of Tillsonburg will have a new Mayor over the next four years.

Deb Gilvesy is just wrapping up her first term as a Town Councillor and will be sworn in as the new Mayor on November 15th. She's eager to get started.

"Just wanting to get to work, start with the new council and get the ball rolling. I am an action-orientated person and I am really excited and can't wait until we can get to work."

Kelly Spencer and Bob Parsons will be new additions to Town Council for the next four years. They will serve alongside incumbents Dave Beres, Chris Parker, Pete Luciani, and Chrissy Rosehart.

Gilvesy is going to get in touch with the new councillors in order to create a game plan for the next term.

"I plan on reaching out to all of the councillors that have been elected to have them help create a priority list because we are a team up there."

She says they will address healthcare, affordable housing and communication over the next term, but their first priority will be the new budget. Budget deliberations are scheduled to begin on December 7th.

Gilvesy would like to thank her family and all of her supporters who helped with her campaign.
