Gems & Java will be happening at the South Gate Centre on Saturday April 22nd with all of the proceeds going to Mothers with a Heart for Ethiopia.
WOODSTOCK - Mothers with a Heart for Ethiopia is excited to host their annual Gems & Java fundraiser this spring.
Last year the event was planned for the fall, but now that pandemic restrictions have eased they are happy to announce the return of the spring event.
Founder & Chair Shelley Green explains how the event works as the main fundraiser.
"This is our major fundraiser, In fact, it's our only event of the year. It is to provide funds for our seven projects in Ethiopia. So, we provide funding for seven projects that serve women living in abject poverty."
Green adds that after a pause during the pandemic, they are hoping to raise extra funds for their multiple projects in Ethiopia.
"So out of those seven projects we have, we support a shelter in Harar called Tesfa shelter for 92 children. It provides everything they need, and we are now almost 100% of their funder."
The event is taking place on Saturday April 22nd and the South Gate Centre in Woodstock. Early bird tickets are being sold until March 31st for $60 each. On April 1st tickets go up to $65 each. To purchase tickets and learn more about Mothers with a heart for Ethiopia, click here.
