Since 2012 event has raised over $300,000 to support education and health programs women and children in Ethiopia.
WOODSTOCK - This years Gems and Java event was a smashing success for the Mothers with a Heart for Ethiopia charity.
This years even raised a record breaking $79,000. Founder of Mothers with a Heart for Ethiopia Shelley Green says they raised 25% more money this year over last years event.
"My heart is so touched and so encouraged by the generosity of all those who supported Gems and Java this year."
All of the money raised at the event helps to fund a number of programs that are designed to help women and children living in Ethopia. Green says she is just overwhelmed by the support from the community for this great cause.
"I am incredibly thankful for the outpouring of love and care by all those who gave their money and all our volunteers who gave of their time and talents."
Green says they have come a long way since the event first started in 2012 and raised $7,700. Since then the event has raised over $300,000 to support education programs for children and women empowerment and health programs in Ethiopia.
