The Woodstock Hospital Auxiliary hosting their annual event Saturday
WOODSTOCK - If you're looking to improve your green thumb or borrow some ideas for your garden, the Woodstock Hospital Auxiliary is hosting an event you'll want to check out this weekend.
The Garden Tour is taking place Saturday June 21st from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, giving the public a chance to tour some gardens at residents throughout the Woodstock area.
Auxiliary member, and one of the Garden Tour organizers Deb Sutherland says a map will be provided on the tickets for attendees to follow on Saturday. "We have 10 gardens around the Woodstock area. All of them are unique. Owners all have their own little personalities in the gardens."
Those visiting the gardens can follow any order they'd like on the tour and refreshments will be available at garden site 10.
Membership Convener for the Auxiliary, Cathy Cope says this is a fundraiser for the group who have been servicing the Woodstock Hospital for over 100 years. "It's made up of a group of volunteers who have worked very diligently to raise money for the patients and patient care in the hospital. It includes many facets but one of the main things is the Gift Shop. We raise money by selling wonderful products and every penny is towards patient care."
Cope says they are always looking for new volunteers for the Auxiliary.
This is the first time the Auxiliary have hosted a Garden Tour. The tickets are $20 each and can be purchased at the Woodstock Hospital Gift Shop, Woodstock Print & Litho and Merrifield's Book Store. Tickets will also be available at the Garden Tour sites on Saturday.
Each ticket purchased is entered into a draw to win a $1000 gift certificate from Different Seasons Landscaping..
