Well below seasonal temperatures coupled with a frigid wind chill prompt Public Health to issue cold weather alert.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford Public Health have issued a cold weather alert effective Thursday through Monday.
Temperatures, with the wind chill factored in, are expected to range from -20 to -30 over the next several days.
Residents are reminded to protect themselves from the cold temperatures especially those at high risk including infants, young children, older adults and those working or enjoying outdoor activities.
Over-exposure to the cold temperatures could lead to complications of frostbite and hypothermia.
Those seeking shelter from the frigid temperatures are encouraged to visit Inn Out of Cold at Old St Paul's Anglican Church (723 Dundas Woodstock) between 7:00 pm and 7:00 am. Anyone arriving after 11:00 pm must be accompanied by a police office
