Woodstock City Council is looking at making one area safer in the community.
WOODSTOCK - An area in Woodstock has become a safety concern for city council.
City Councillor Shawn Shapton brought a notice of motion to council last night.
"We're looking into a traffic calming measure at the corner of Halifax and Springbank. There's been numerous motor vehicle accidents and we've recently completed a park. So there's no real safe place for people to cross."
The corner of Halifax and Springbank has been an issue for some time now due to speeding cars.
Shapton says they want to get the public's input on the matter.
"The next stage we'll go to a public consultation and that's probably the biggest part of the motion. So we will ask residents in the area to come forward and make their suggestions as to what the fix may be, whether it's a four way stop or some other traffic calming measure."
