Environment Canada says we could see a few milimetres of freezing rain morning before it turns into snow or regular rain this afternoon.
OXFORD COUNTY - We're currently under a freezing rain warning in Oxford County.
We can expect freezing rain or ice pellets this morning, but it should switch to regular rain or snow this afternoon before turning into flurries this evening.
Environment Canada says we could see a few milimeteres of ice accretion due to the freezing rain, which could make the roads and sidewalks quite slippery out there.
OPP Constable Ed Sanchuk posted a video on the OPP West Region Twitter page yesterday, to remind all drivers to drive accordingly to the weather conditions. This includes reducing their speed and leaving space between the vehicle in front of them. He says you need to make sure you have enough time to stop your vehicle if you have to hit the brakes.
Environment Canada is also predicting up to 70 kilometre per hour wind gusts today but they should start to diminish later this afternoon.
Looks like #FreezingRain is expected! Are YOU prepared for the morning commute? #OPP encouraging everyone to drive according to the road and weather conditions. Please #SlowDown and get home safely to your family. #DriveSafe @NorfolkCountyCA #NorfolkOPP ^es pic.twitter.com/P1RBHtA86z
