WOODSTOCK - The OPP have responded to over 100 collisions over the past 24 hours after the freezing rain in Oxford County and surrounding areas.
The latest crash happened just before 9:00 am with Police and Fire at the scene of a collision at the 401 West Bound just before the Norwich Avenue exit. Constable Ed Sanchuk says the OPP haven't put out exact numbers at this time.
"There is collisions everywhere across the West Region, make sure you take your time, get to work safely this morning and more importantly reduce your speed. All of the collisions we are having is because people are driving like it's 90 degrees outside, we need people to have some common sense when they get behind the wheel."
Sanchuk says motorists also need to be concerned about water pooling as the rain continues to fall today.
"Please be mindful that there is water pooling on the roadways and pedestrians walking on the sidewalks. OPP is reminding everyone to drive safe and to stay dry."
