A traditional turkey dinner will be served from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday October 13th.
WOODSTOCK - Unifor Local 636 has partnered with several local groups to make sure everyone has access to a delicious turkey dinner this Thanksgiving long weekend.
It has joined forces with Operation Sharing, Oxford County Pride, and Woodstock Foodland to host a free Thanksgiving dinner on the holiday Monday.
President Brent Thompson explains why they do this every year.
"It's just the most rewarding day that we can do as a community to make sure that people that can't necessarily get to the grocery store with the cost of everything, have an opportunity to sit and have a good family meal."
The event is also open to those who don't have anyone to spend the holiday with, but would still like to enjoy some delicious food and companionship.
Thompson tells us what's on the menu.
"We have turkey, stuffing, vegetables, and potatoes. It's the traditional Thanksgiving dinner that you would have anywhere you go."
The food will be served at Unifor Hall from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and they will have enough to feed 300 people.
