Premier Doug Ford says the Province will not be implementing a vaccine passport, unless it comes from the Federal Government.
Ontario will not be implementing a vaccine passport.
Premier Doug Ford says he does not support the idea and a vaccine passport will have to come from the Federal Government.
"I have always said right from the get-go, first of all everyone has certification of the vaccine when they get it. As for the passport, that is up to the Federal Government."
Ford has been clear he does not support a passport.
"I've been pretty clear, so has our Chief Medical Officer of Ontario, Dr. Moore, it's just not needed. We are going to have hopefully 80% of people fully vaccinated and it is just not needed. I just don't believe in it. I know Israel tried it and it failed."
Ford did say he would not stand in the way, if the Federal Government does implement one.
"If the Federal Government wants to come out with a passport for people who want to head down South to US or over to Europe, that is going to be up to the Federal Government, I am not going to balk at that, that is their jurisdiction."
The Province of Quebec is considering a vaccine passport.
