NORFOLK COUNTY - Norfolk OPP have closed down a section of Highway 24 East after a fatal single vehicle crash this morning.
Police say a car went off the road, into the ditch around 7:23 this morning. The car hit a culvert, causing it to go airborne landing in the ditch on the other side of the driveway. The driver suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
he identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Norfolk County Highway 24 East is currently closed between Charlotteville West Quarter Line Road and Forestry Farm Road. It is anticipated that the road closure will remain in effect for approximately 6 hours to allow for further investigation.
Update 9/24/2018 - The deceased driver has been identified as, 34 year-old John Paul Benson of Norfolk County.
