One person was rescued successfully, while another person has died in a fire that broke out around 10:00 p.m., in Simcoe. Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the blaze.
SIMCOE - One person has died in an apartment fire on Culver Street in Simcoe.
Police say around 10:00 p.m. on Monday, an OPP officer on patrol noticed the fire. The officer, along with help from another OPP removed one occupant successfully from the fire.
When volunteer firefighters arrived on scene, they located another individual in an upper apartment. The individual was transferred to local hospital, they were pronounced deceased.
The Ontario Fire Marshal's office has been contacted and will continue to investigate.
