A new building has opened to serve farmers from across the region. Farm Credit Canada opened up a spacious new building, overlooking highway 401. The new Athlone Avenue headquarters in Woodstock held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday. District Director George Klosler on what the new locations means for farmers. "Easy access into the city, out of the city to serve our customers. We're servicing the rural community, so most of our activity is out around the city, rather than in the city. So this location here is really advantageous." The FCC was previously in a Princess St. office building in Woodstock's downtown. Officials says the new location also features more parking, and is fully accessible. FCC Vice President of Operations for Western Ontario, Barry Smith says, "It just wasn't customer friendly from our perception, anyway. And the customers have given us feedback as well. We thought this would be a great opportunity to be where the business is thriving and get an office building that better suits the customers' needs." Farm Credit Canada provides loans, insurance and other financial services for farmers.
