It was all smiles at Maranatha Church as Fanshawe's Woodstock campus held their graduation.
WOODSTOCK - Approximately 220 students crossed the stage to receive their Fanshawe College diploma.
The Woodstock campus held their graduation Wednesday evening.
Campus Chair Donna Derer says it's a big year for the Campus.
"We have a Dean's Academic Medal Winner at the Campus, his name is David Craig Carrothers which means he has received the highest academic marks in all of the regional campuses of all of the graduates which is a great accomplishment for one of our students. We are very delighted with that." Carrothers graduated from the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician program.
Derer says local Tim Horton Franchise Owner Leslie Farrell received an honorary diploma and spoke to the graduating class.
"An honorary diploma is given to an individual who has had a unique and outstanding impact at either a local, provincial, national or global level and of course Leslie is so well known in the community in terms of her outreach. She has been a Queen's Jubilee Award Winner and she's such a tremendous friend to Fanshawe College. We are so delighted to present her with the award this year."
But Derer says there was still more to celebrate.
"We have graduates from two new program this year for the first time ever. Our Business Entrepreneurship and Management two year diploma program is seeing its first group of graduates and our Pre Health Science program is seeing its first group of graduates so we continue to grow and add new programs when we can."
