The PJHL playoffs are fast approaching with the Navy Vets tied for 6th place with Ayr.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Navy Vets are holding a Fan Appreciation Night this Friday as they take on the Paris Mounties.
On Friday, January 25, 2019 the Vets will honour all 5 of their overagers. These players have all spent long periods with the time and cannot return to the team due to the leagues age restriction. Captain Cam Leslie, Jared Prekup, Justin Elms, Chris Nauts and Austin Sine will sadly leave the team. The Fan Appreciation night will have 3 giveaways of cupcakes to the first 100 fans, t-shirts and temporary Vets tattoos. General Manager of the Vets, Robin Inscoe said the team needs to put 100% in the last few games.
"If all the pieces are just healthy, we play to our capabilities and we should be just fine. We have struggled of late but hopefully everybody picks up their game come playoff time and we are firing on all cylinders."
Inscoe hopes the community can come out to support the Vets.
"Well we obviously like a full house every night but, I'm hoping that Vets fans come out to say goodbye to the overagers in style and cheer us on to a win."
The game starts at 7:45 at Southwood Arena in Woodstock. The Vets are tied with the Ayr Centennials for 6th spot in the South Doherty Division.
