Environment Canada says we could be in for a mixed bag of temperatures this fall with some warmer days and some cooler days.
OXFORD COUNTY - Summer is officially over, and fall has made its way to Oxford County.
Trudy Kidd, a Warning Preparedness Meteorologist with Environment Canada says what can be expected finishing out the month of September.
"When we talk about the week ahead, it's more of the same. So, September we saw pretty dry conditions overall in Southwestern Ontario, and Oxford County region in general."
Kidd adds the fall season is one that throws curve balls, as one day you could be wearing shorts and a t-shirt, then the next day you are looking for your winter coat and boots.
She tells us how the next few months could look.
"What that means is generally in October we have daytime highs around 14. In November we have usual daytime highs around 7 degrees, and we start seeing lows in November that are reaching the freezing point."
As the colder temperatures make their way to the County, the question of when to put winter tires on comes into play. A general rule of thumb would be that once there are 7 straight days with highs at the 7-degree mark, it should be safe to make the switch.
