Fall Forecast Predictions

Autumn looks like it could start off warm and sunny.

Tomorrow officially kicks off the fall season, and it looks like it should be a nice one. 

So far in the month of September the average temperature for the entire month has been 4 degrees above normal. Meteorologist with Environment Canada Peter Kimbell says they expect good things for the start of autumn. 

"Generally speaking, warmer than normal is the trend for September and it looks like that trend will continue for the rest of the month and into October as well with lots of warm days and sunshine." 

Kimbell says so far we haven't had any close calls with frost in Oxford County. 

"The coldest temperature we have seen this month so far was 6.1 degrees on September 14th, and we do have a couple of days with temperatures dipping down to 7 degrees. So no frost in the forecast yet, but we know that we are not too far away. October is coming and we will generally get the first frost sometime in early October. It is to early too be specific as to when it will happen, nothing on the horizon yet, but it will be coming."
