You can now experience the county life with Tour De Farm
BRANT COUNTY - Tickets are now available for the Tour De Farm next month.
The tour includes educational experiences for the public at four different farms on July 7th between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Supervisor of Tourism and Special Events, Russell Press explains the tours.
"The tours are self-guided so you can travel at your own pace and visit in the order that suits you. We will provide a suggested route but it's up to you if you want to use it or explore the gorgeous County of Brant countryside."
The four farms include:
Grand River Beans Inc. - Learn how they grow various edible beans and how they use a robotic line to process the beans.
Moore Farm - View growing strawberries and veggies and give you and the kids a chance to play in the Hay Maze and Corn Box. Check out equipment and visit with the horses and Molly the donkey.
Eddy Beef Farm/Brookside Farm - Learn about beef production from calving to the finished product, breeding and feeding programs and view the cattle feeding and grazing in the pasture.
Sayles Dairy - View a state-of-the-art dairy facility with 90 milking cows and their robotic milking system.
Press says the learning is suited for all ages.
"This is a fantastic way to explore our agricultural side for both residents and visitors."
Tickets can be purchased online. The cost is $15.00 per person or $40.00 per vehicle of five. A hot breakfast is also included at this years registration before the tour from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Paris Agricultural Society.
