Good news for anyone dreaming of a White Christmas in Oxford County this year.
WOODSTOCK - It's looking like we could have a White Christmas this year in Oxford County.
Environment Canada says the recent mild spell will be coming to an end soon and the month of December is shaping up to be colder than normal. Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says the positive to this is the possibility of a white Christmas.
"As we go through the coming weeks, their will be more opportunity to see those winds move around to the North West on occasion and that could bring in some of that Lake effect snow into the Woodstock area as well, increasing the likelihood of a White Christmas."
Coulson says they are expecting the temperatures to drop starting to tonight, leading into a cold December.
"The first shot of cold air is actually coming down this week and we are going to say goodbye to the mild temperatures we have had over the last number of days to finish of November and start us off in December and this real shift to colder than normal conditions could be with us right into the Christmas time period."
