The Embro Truck and Tractor Pull will be happening this weekend. The local farmers will hit the track on Friday and the modified trucks and tractors will pull on Saturday.
EMBRO - It's an August long-weekend tradition in Embro.
The truck and tractor pull will be taking place this weekend with the local farmers on Friday August 4th and the modified truck and tractor pull on Saturday August 5th.
Secretary Virginia Janssen says kids will also be able to get in on the action this year.
"We have a little pedal tractor and weights set up for the kids to pull. So they can hop on that pedal tractor and pedal with all of their might to get to the end and we might have a little prize to entice them to come on out."
Janssen says the pedal pull will run for a couple of hours each day. They will also have other kids' activities, food booths, and a 19-plus beer garden on site.
Janssen says all of the money raised will stay in the community.
"The event is hosted by Oxford Junior Farmers. They will donate the proceeds to different community groups and causes including the local hospitals, food banks, school nutrition programs, as well as donating back to all of the volunteer groups who help make our event possible."
The gates will open at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday with the pulling starting an hour later each day. They're hoping to finish at around 10:00 p.m. each night.
Single-day tickets cost $20 for an adult or $5 for kids between the ages of five and 12. Weekend passes cost $30 for adults and $10 for kids between five and 12. Children under the age of five will get in for free.
