Oxford County Junior Farmers would like to thank everyone to supported the Embro Truck and Tractor Pull last year.
EMBRO - The Embro Truck and Tractor Pull was a huge success in 2023, with $31,000 donated back to the community.
A total of $15,000 was distributed amongst seven food banks throughout Oxford County. This includes Operation Sharing's Food for Friends program, which was able to receive a cheque for $5,000.
Jess Cheyne, the Fundraising, Marketing, and Volunteering Coordinator for Operation Sharing, says Food for Friends provides people in need with redeemable gift cards so they can purchase groceries.
"We are so grateful for this donation to our Food for Friends Program. These funds will be used to help families who are currently struggling with food insecurity. By offering food cards to local grocery stores, anyone can shop with dignity and get what they need."
A total of $8,000 was split between the hospitals in Woodstock, Tillsonburg, Ingersoll, and Stratford so they could buy new equipment. The tractor pull committee also distributed another $8,000 amongst to local charities including the Thames Valley School Nutrition Program.
The Embro Truck and Tractor pull is hosted by Oxford County Junior Farmers, with more than 200 volunteers helping out last year.
This year's event is scheduled for Friday August 2nd and Saturday August 3rd.
