The pickup truck was travelling south bound on Thames Street South when it struck an 84-year-old woman walking across the street. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
INGERSOLL - Oxford OPP are investigating a collision that occurred earlier this afternoon after an elderly woman was struck by pickup truck on Thames Street South.
OPP, Oxford County Fire Services and Oxford County paramedics arrived on scene at 1:45pm after a witness reported the incident.
The pickup truck was travelling south bound on Thames Street South when it struck an 84-year-old woman walking across the street.
She was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The road was closed between St. Andrew Street and Charles Street for approximately three hours while emergency crews and investigators were on scene.
OPP Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.
The driver of the pickup truck remained on scene and he is cooperating with police.
