Oxford County and Southern Ontario remains in a state of deep freeze right now with an extreme cold warning in place.
OXFORD COUNTY - Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for the region, including Oxford County today.
A frigid arctic air mass and strong winds from last night have resulted in wind chill values of minus 30 to minus 35.
We will likely get a break from the freezing cold on Friday as milder air moves into the region.
Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.
If it's too cold for you to stay outside, it's too cold for your pet to stay outside.
Anyone in need of a place to crash overnight can stop by the Inn of Oxford.
It's an year-round overnight shelter out of Old St Paul's Anglican Church.
About 11 to 15 people stay overnight there during the average winter night.... with the doors opening at 7:30.
The Operation Sharing program would not be possibly without community donations.
